Blind Faith vs. Independence

Yogiraj Prakash Shankar Vyas challenges blind faith and religious limitation, and asks what it truly means to know God for yourself.

Dear Reader,

I want to ask you two questions.

Are you still in the area of your religion?

Or are you free from that?

Do you believe in God?

Or don’t you?

First of all, religion is very limited; it is very restricted.

The people and the books don’t allow you to think about any other religion.

You won’t let anything interfere with your religious beliefs.

The Hindu doesn’t think about Christianity, Islam, or Judaism.

The Christian doesn’t want to know about Hinduism, or Islam, and so on.

Secondly, on what basis do you accept or deny God’s existence?

Regardless of your belief, your intellect tells you that you know what is the truth.

But you have read, you have been told, you have been taught.

How easily we accept everything!

But belief is blind faith.

Notice how easily other people’s experiences become our own experiences.

But the Guru’s duty is to make you independent.

This is why I am telling you: do your observation practice.

Don’t depend on what I am saying.

Don’t have blind faith in me or anything else.

And—do you think that God can change? Or is God unchanging?

I don’t want to go into detail about the name God right now…

But see how, at this moment you are having one experience—

In five minutes, it will be a different experience.

Your mind is constantly changing.

This changeable consciousness cannot define or experience God.

Preachers read books, but they do not speak from experience.

How will you explain something that is beyond your consciousness?

If it is not reachable, we are only playing games with our thoughts.

Yet you have not experienced the existence, or non-existence, of God for yourself.

People make you dream—

They speak of understanding ‘Truth’; but it is a false statement.

Because when you become Truth—you cannot speak at all;

It does not enter consciousness. How will you explain what is beyond you?

How can you accept or reject it?

If someone says: ‘I have found the Absolute; I know the Truth.’

You think you understand. But it is not possible; it is very superficial.

If ‘Truth’ can enter your thoughts, it is not Truth.

This is human nature that we learn through words; but there is no meaning.

But when something is beyond words…

Our life is based on words because we communicate through words.

Someone instructs you to stand, and you obey.

Your brain has stored the words, so you know what to do.

And the word ‘God’, or ‘Absolute’, or ‘Brahman’ is written in books, telling you what God is.

But if there was no description; no attributes, then what will you believe?

If you don’t speak the same language as someone else, nothing will register.

You know only the information you have prerecorded.

If you only depend upon someone else’s experience, it is useless.

Do your own hard work.

Your homework is to try to understand what I am telling you.

to be continued …

These words are based on a satsang or talk given this week by Yogiraj Prakash Shankar Vyas, who teaches original Kriya Yoga in the direct lineage of Lahiri Mahasaya as a householder. His Guruji, Satya Charan Lahiri, was the grandson of Lahiri Mahasaya. He said that this talk was in preparation for his annual Gurupurnima satsang, this Saturday.

Happy Gurupurnima 🙏✨🙏

With love and smiles,

Heidi 🙏💙😀
