Dear Reader,
You think you know everything, because energy connects with the body.
Energy connects with the mind, the intellect and the ego.
Everything we see is the product of consciousness.
Conscious or subconscious, it all arises from the mind—
Although you know consciousness is there, always think—‘I am not only this. I am not the body’.
When you are observing your thoughts, you can see how the movement of thoughts
rises and falls like the waves in the sea on a windy day.
They are always changing, coming and going,
But they subside as they come closer to the shore.
And by meditation you can allow yourself to be free.
Observation is very useful for you in your daily life,
Because you can change your habits in a natural way.
When I talk about ‘Self-awareness’, I mean become aware from the Self.
You are not the body.
So come to the shore.
People misunderstand that you have to control your mind in meditation.
But if you practice observation, the monkey that was jumping here and there will be very quiet.
The mind and consciousness will remain, but in a purified form.
You cannot imagine the difference—
how your mind is in this moment, and how it will be in that state when you are free.
Remember that consciousness is always changing; time is always moving.
When you are looking out of the window of a train, you are moving,
but it seems as if the world is passing by.
If you jump off a slow moving train onto the platform, you have to run to keep the momentum.
Otherwise you fall and hurt yourself.
Likewise, stability and maintenance are required; how to maintain and balance it by yourself.
And our body is of this world.
When the inside is balanced, the outside will also be balanced.
You will be surprised when there is no movement and no time;
and when you even forget about your body.
These words are based on a satsang or talk given by Yogiraj Prakash Shankar Vyas, who teaches original Kriya Yoga in the direct lineage of Lahiri Mahasaya as a householder. His Guruji, Satya Charan Lahiri, was the grandson of Lahiri Mahasaya.
With love and smiles,
